Why TECH TANK SKN || Why Now

First for the Federation

Tech Tank SKN is the first national youth innovation and entrepreneurship competition ever staged in St. Kitts and Nevis. Inspired by the global format of Shark Tank, the wildly successful television series that turned business pitching into must-watch television, Tech Tank SKN brings that same electric energy, blended with a short-form micro version of Y-C, home to the Eastern Caribbean, grounded in the real challenges and possibilities that our young people see every single day.

This is not a science fair. It is not a school debate. Tech Tank SKN is a full-scale national competition that integrates entrepreneurship, technology, public speaking, leadership development, and media exposure into a single, high-stakes, high-energy experience. Participants do not just present an idea, they develop it, defend it, refine it with mentors, and ultimately compete for it on a live stage before a national audience.

"The Caribbean has always produced extraordinary people. Tech Tank SKN is simply the stage we should have built a long time ago."

Hamil AB James  ·  Founder, Tech Tank SKN

Why This Matters Right Now

The Caribbean is at an inflection point. Across the region, governments, development banks, and international agencies are all saying the same thing: the future of the Caribbean economy depends on its ability to produce homegrown entrepreneurs, technologists, and business leaders who can compete in a digital, innovation-driven global economy.

Tech Tank SKN is not a response to that conversation, it is the beginning of a new one. One that says: the talent is already here. It is sitting in classrooms across Nevis and St. Kitts right now. It has ideas, it has energy, and it has ambition. What it has needed is a stage worthy of it.

That stage is Tech Tank SKN.

"Every student who stands on that stage is a future business owner, a future employer, a future innovator. We are not just running a competition. We are building an ecosystem."

Bigger Than a Competition

From the very beginning, Tech Tank SKN has been designed with a long view. The 2026 Summer Competition is just Phase One of a much larger vision for what youth innovation in the Caribbean can look like.

The roadmap ahead includes a Tech Tank Summer Innovation Campus, an 8-week residential incubator programme for the region's most promising young entrepreneurs. It includes a Caribbean Technology Accelerator that takes the best ideas coming out of Tech Tank and helps turn them into real platforms/businesses with real investment. It includes formal entrepreneurship education programmes embedded into schools across the Federation, and eventually a physical regional campus that makes St. Kitts and Nevis a hub for Caribbean innovation.

None of that happens without a first step. Tech Tank SKN Summer 2026 is that step.

Going Global

Tech Tank SKN is not just a local story. From day one, the programme is designed with international reach, with a coordinated marketing and media campaign spanning St. Kitts and Nevis, the wider OECS and CARICOM, the Caribbean diaspora communities in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, and extending into Nigeria, Zambia, and Tanzania.

The message being sent is simple, and it is powerful: the Caribbean is open for Innovation. Our young people are ready. And the world should be watching.

Join the Movement

If you are a young person aged 12 to 18 living in St. Kitts and Nevis, this is your moment. Applications open in May 2026 and close on the 31st of July. You do not need a finished product. You do not need a business degree. You need an idea, a belief in it, and the courage to stand up and pitch it.

If you are a business, a brand, a financial institution, or an individual who believes in the next generation of Caribbean leaders, Tech Tank SKN is looking for sponsors and partners who want to be part of something historic. Sponsorship packages begin at $5,000 USD and range to a full Title Sponsorship at $50,000 USD and above, with naming rights, media exposure, VIP Gala access, and the very real chance to shape the next generation of the Caribbean's most ambitious minds.

If you are a professional, a lawyer, an accountant, a technology executive, a serial entrepreneur, the programme is actively seeking mentors to work with the Top 10 semi-finalists during the development phase. Your experience could be the thing that turns a good idea into a great one.
